Looking Forward to Spring: An Update
The Duplex
Ben has been working hard on finishing the renovations needed to complete The Duplex apartment. He is just about finished with the trim in the living room and bedroom, then he will finish the trim in the bathroom before we tackle the kitchen. This spring, we are excited to host a few different people. Join us in praying that our space will be filled with peace and welcoming hospitality as we connect with friends as they pass through. God is doing great things and we are excited to see The Duplex being used.
Another project we are hoping to tackle this spring is our yard. This will help us build into one of our foundational pillars of creating beauty through nature and gardens. We had some stone donated to us this past fall, and with the dry stone skills that Ben has learned over the last 2 years, he is planning to build a stone wall and fence on our property. We will also be digging up most of the yard to lay drain tile and regrade the space to help with water as it flows through the yard.
Places of Welcome
We are continuing to work on laying and establishing the foundations of Places of Welcome. It’s a lot of work to get a nonprofit up and running! And we are learning SO much! Teresa has started taking online training courses about running a nonprofit through an organization called Nonprofitready.org. She is currently learning all about boards. It is sometimes tedious work, but we believe the better we can lay our foundations, the better Places of Welcome will be in the future. Teresa has also been working hard on getting all things financial running smoothly — again a lot of learning is happening. Later this month she will be learning more about Quickbooks.

Begin to plan and organize for the National Rainbow Gathering — happening in June in New England.
Spend some extra time in New England visiting family, friends and checking out some intentional communities.
Head to Texas at the beginning of June for The Cause partner retreat.
