Thankful.
In this season of thankfulness...
We wanted to share all that this year has held for Places of Welcome.
This year, through your prayers and financial donations, we have been able to:
Begin the work on renovating the upstairs apartment at the duplex.
Host two families in the duplex apartment as they were in a season of transition. One family for almost 3 months and the other off and on for a month and a half.
During this time we were able to provide free rent and utilities, as well as being able to have lots of time sharing our lives and space with one another through meals, coffee times, bbqs, and great conversations.
Work on landscaping throughout the duplex property in order to make the space more friendly and welcoming.
We were able to take the Jesus Kitchen to the National Rainbow Gathering in Colorado where we gave away almost 500 meals every day, offered skill-shares in woodcarving, listening prayer and bow drill fire starting. We also had many beautiful conversations, prayer times, communion and a beloved time of foot washing.
Take classes on non-violent communication and peacekeeping, and join workshops on fundraising, spiritual direction, boundaries, and making our mission & vision possible.
Work on budgeting, finances, and networking.
It has been a year of hard work! Through it all we have seen God’s goodness and faithfulness. We are looking forward to this next year as we continue to learn and grow and follow God’s heart for creating welcoming hospitality in the margins.
AND we want to say THANK YOU! Thank you for your partnership with us and helping us to make all these things possible.
Many blessings to you in this holiday season!
